Plastic Jesus Fall Line Spring Wind  Jack Johnson

[D]I don't care if it rains or freezes
[G]as long as I've got my plastic Jesus
D A*
sitting on the dashboard of my car
[D]it comes in colors pink and pleasant
[G]it glows in the dark cause its iridescent
[D]I'll take it with me whe[A]never I go f[D]ar
[D]so give me my lady Madonna
[G]dressed in rhinestones and sitting on a
D A*
pedestal of abalone shells
[D]driving 90 but I'm not scared
[G]because I've got my Virgin Mary
[D]assuring me that I will [A]never go to h[D]ell

D (Plucking D string)

[D]And by the way You know that
[D]hope will make you strange
[D]Make you blink, make you blank, make you sink
[D]It will make you af[G]raid of change
[G]And often blame
[G]The box with the view of the world
And the walls that fill the fr[D]ame
[D]I turn it up
[D]but then I turn it off
[D]Because I can't stand when they start to talk
About the hu[G]rting and killing
[G]Whose shoes are we filling
[G]The damage and ruin
[G]Man, the things that we're doing
      [D]
Good god, We gotta stop, we gotta turn it all off
[D]We gotta rewind
[D]and start it up again
A**
Because we fell across the fall line
[A]Ain't there nothing sacred any[G]more

[G]Nana nana nana [D]na

G, D, G, D, G, D

[D]Somebody saw him jump
But nobody saw him slip
I guess he lost a lot of hope
And then he lost his grip
Now he's ly[G]ing in the freeway
In the middle of this mess
Guess we lost another one
Just like the other one
[D]Optimistic hypocrite
That didn't have the nerve to quit
The things that kept him wanting more
Until he finally reached the core
A**
He fell across the fall line
[A]Ain't there nothing sacred an[G]ymore

G…

A**
We all fell across the fall line
[A]Ain't there nothing sacred an[G]ymore

[G]Nana nana nana [D]na

G, D, G, D

[G]Nana nana nana [D]na

[G]All my f[D]riends are getting o[G]lder,
[A]I guess I must be [BM]too.
Without their love and k[G]indness
[A]I don’t want I’ll do
Oh t[G]he wine bottle’s half e[D]mpty
[A]The money’s all been s[BM]pent
We’re a cross between our pa[G]rents
And hi[A]ppies in a tent.
Oh, L[G]ove calls just like a w[D]ild bird
[A]It’s just another [BM]day
Spring blew my l[G]ist of t[A]hings to do a[D]way.
G,D,G,D

[G]In a mu[D]cked up lovely r[G]iver
[A]I cast my my little [BM]fly
But I look at that river and I s[G]mell it and
it m[A]akes me want to cry, Oh
[G]To clean our dirty pl[D]anet
[A]Now there’s a noble w[BM]ish
Now I putting shoulder t[G]o the wheel
[A]Cause I wanna catch some fish, Oh
L[G]ove calls just like a w[D]ild bird
[A]It’s just another [BM]day
Spring blew my l[G]ist of th[A]ings to do a[D]way.

A* At this point Jack plucks the open A string and strums A. Then covers the E string
on the second fret with his thumb, pluck and then strum A again. Then he returns to D.

A** Pluck open A string strum A, cover E string on 2nd fret pluck and strum A again.
Cover E string on 3rd fret pluck and strum A. Cover E string on 2nd fret strum A.
Then he goes to G.

Hope this helps! If you listen to the song performed on “Weekend at the Greek”
you will hear what I am talking about.
